I have held QTS since the 1st of August 2007. I am willing to teach English and Maths for children in KS1 and KS2. I am experienced at teaching Phonics and am very interested in raising children's standard of reading. I can also teach the other subjects in the Primary curriculum. I have a performing arts background and I feel that speech and language skills plays a major part in a child's overall confidence.

I have a love of working with children and feel that through teaching I am able to connect and inspire. I believe that through teaching I can help build young people’s confidence, self-esteem and help promote a positive sense of self. Having a positive sense of self helps to inform the future adults that they will become. It is also believe it is a joy to help children who are struggling to reach their full potential no matter what their background is.

Tutoring young black children is important to me because, from what I have witnessed, often our children fall out of love with schooling due to the unconscious biases in the school system. Our children are so important and therefore so is their education. They deserve to feel valued, feel successful and have that sense of achievement that is afforded to their counterparts so easily. This will in turn give them the confidence to help them to take their rightful place in society as adults.

I am willing to teach throughout Hertfordshire as I am based in Welwyn Garden City. I would like to work within Hertford, Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage and Hatfield. Although I am willing to travel to Broxbourne, Watford, Tring and East Hertfordshire.
