I have held my QTS for two years. However, I have been working with and mentoring pupils for the last 9 years. I am willing to teach KS1 Maths and KS2 English and Maths.

I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching, I am committed to helping children progress, providing positive learning experiences and life chances. My passion for teaching stems from my educational journey, I always had incredible teachers, teachers that left an impression on my heart and changed my life. Every child that I come in contact with is unique. They have their own personality and their own life experiences even at such a young age. As a teacher, I am dynamic and adaptable, because what might work for one child may not work for another. Through my style of teaching, the level of discipline shown, and the scaffolds within my lessons, every child is important, and every child is catered for. I can make minute by minute decisions based on what each child needs to achieve, including adapting plans and activities.

Before becoming a teacher, I had amazing black deputy heads in both primary and secondary school. It was their example-ship and belief in my abilities that caused me to go into teaching. As a black educator I believe that representation matters, black pupils need to understand that they are capable of achieving whatever they are willing to work hard for. As a black educator, I am aware that sadly our black pupils need to work twice as hard as their white counterparts. I believe that it takes a village to help raise a child and as a teacher I am in a unique position to cause pupils to discover their full potential. I encourage each individual to grow and flourish in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Teaching them about their history and other successful black people. Allowing them to see themselves in these role models, and thus understand that they too can achieve what they set their minds to.

Currently I live in East London and work in North London, during term time ideally I would like to travel between these two areas however, during school holidays and weekends I am willing to drive to West or South London depending on the time of day.
