I qualified as a teacher in 2015. I previously ran my own private tuition business where I generally taught English and Maths. However, I am equipped and able to teach all subjects within the curriculum, for KS1 and KS2.

I have taught in many schools across London as both a teaching assistant (before I held QTS) and as a teacher. Before securing a permanent contract in a school in which I felt comfortable, I worked as a supply teacher through an agency. This allowed me to build on my experience of teaching in different types of schools, whilst helping me to build on my resilience, when placed in unexpected or uncomfortable situations. I believe this was extremely useful, as I have found that many of the skills I am able to apply now, were developed during this period.

As a mother of a young black child, I am passionate about young black children receiving the time and quality of teaching they deserve. I believe that black children are understood best by black teachers themselves, that have experienced the struggles that these young people may too have also already experienced. We as black teachers know how best to prepare the children for the wider world. I feel that it is extremely important that black children are taught by teachers that genuinely want the best for them and are willing to do what it takes to get them there. These children are our future.

I am mobile and can cover areas such as Enfield, North and East London.
