KS1 and KS2 Teacher

I have had my QTS for two years and I am willing to teach key stage 1 and 2 maths and English.

I have taught in a variety of different educational settings such as academies, nurseries, early years and upper key stage 2. I love teaching because it is a chance for me to invest in the future of the next generation. I believe that all children are capable of achieving much more when they are provided with the correct environment and circumstances. As a result, I take pride in allowing children to exceed their own expectations through a well thought out and structured teaching sequence that is both engaging and challenging.

Tutoring young black children is important to me because from my experience both as a student and as a teacher, I have seen the way in which potential can be stifled because of low expectations or lack of care. Many times I have seen students with a lot more to give being capped because of previous adult judgement or status quo. Black children need to see people that look like them not only believing in them but also upholding them to an excellent standard. One that will allow them to see themselves as capable in all respects.
