As a primary school teacher, I set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils. I have a thorough up to date knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively. I am aware, and have an understanding of, the national curriculum and a range of assessment requirements; I endeavour to promote good progress and outcomes by pupils; I know how to use local, and national statistics to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching; I have an astute knowledge and understanding of the implications of equal opportunities, multicultural education and inclusion.

I have attended a number of Summer camps hosted by charities throughout England and Scotland. Working with a small team of other volunteers supporting and encouraging the children at camp. I have been a qualified teacher for 2 years now. I am able to teach English and Maths at Primary school level and I can support children during grammar/ SATs prep. I have a degree in History and Sociology so I am able to support children preparing for their History GCSE and A-levels.

I have previously taught in as secondary school as an unqualified teacher. When I was there I taught History and Geography to year 7, 8 and 9 children. I currently teach in a primary school as a qualified teacher. I love teaching because it gives me this sense of happiness when I know that I have helped a child understand a difficult concept. Also, teaching is a rewarding job as you are able to see a child develop over the course of an academic year. I couldn't see myself doing anything else. It is most definitely my passion.

Tutoring black children is important to me for a number of reasons: first I want children from my culture, and every child, value education and see the benefits of being knowledgeable. Secondly, I want them to know that through hard work it's achievable to go to university and get a professional job. Lastly, I want black children to have a fair chance of success through getting a high quality education, and having the necessary equipment to be successful even if that is through extra tuition.

I available to tutor around Birmingham. I am willing to travel up to a radius of 5 miles from the Handsworth area.
